Adopt a Family Member for Christmas

CCASTA Needy Family Christmas Program 2019 

This year, our families are coming from Ducketts Lane Elementary school.  We have asked the school not to share the names of the children or family with us, so all of the program participants have been “de-identified."  The school has the family information, and they will ensure that the gifts are provided to the families. 

We are asking participating parishioners to adopt one family member, and we will combine the gifts so that each member of the family receives gifts.   So that there is consistency among family members, we are asking that the approximate value of gifts for the family member be $50. SIGN UP here.

The gifts should not be wrapped.  If possible, please provide a roll or two of wrapping paper with your gifts and scotch tape if possible.  We’ll provide name tags. 

Collection of Gifts 

Please bring your purchased unwrapped gifts to the Ascension Office basement on Saturday, December 14 between 10:00 and 11:00 am.  If you are unable to make this date/time, you are welcome to drop them off at the rectory for either St. Augustine or Ascension.  If you drop them off at the rectories, please make sure that the family member's number is on the bag or whatever method you bring the gifts so that we will know who they belong to. 

The gifts will be delivered on Tuesday, December 17.  In years past, there have been a few family members who did not have gifts, and we will be using the gift cards to ensure that each of the family members receives Christmas gifts.   

Please do not worry about purchasing food.  We are creating food boxes as part of our Holiday Meal Collection and we will be taking these boxes to the schools for distribution.
