What is Confirmation? Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation, along with Baptism and the Eucharist. In Confirmation, we are sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, thus renewing and perfecting the grace we receive at our Baptism. Those who are Confirmed "are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed" (CCC 1285).
Confirmation at CCASTA is usually celebrated in the spring of 9th grade, but any youth who has reached that age, has received the other Sacraments of Initiation and is currently in a religious instruction program in a parish or Catholic school is welcome to prepare for this sacrament with us. Our year-long Confirmation preparation process begins in spring of the year prior to being confirmed. If you are a teen who is missing one or more of the sacraments, has been away from the faith for a while, or has a special circumstance, just reach out to us, and we'll be happy to walk with you!
