Racial Justice Action & Solidarity

Goal: Develop meaningful partnerships with organizations that support communities adversely impacted by racial and social injustice.

The CCASTA Racial Justice team partnered with St Peter Claver/St Pius V (SPC/SPV) to collect masks and hand sanitizers for Baltimore residents in need. Our relationship was renewed in light of the George Floyd Jr tragedy and COVID-19 pandemic. CCASTA parishioners donated 4,000+ masks, 500+ bottles of sanitizer, and other disinfectant items. Additionally, $900 was collected to purchase additional PPE as needed. The team packed 500 ziploc bags filled with PPE and distributed the items at SPC/SPV’s Harper’s Helpers and Sunday Sandwiches events.

Both parishes look forward to working together on many more events that will have positive impacts on the Baltimore community.
