Volunteer for Children's Ministry

Mission: To provide security for children during CCASTA kids' programs including Walk with Jesus and Jessus and Me (J.A.M.)
 

Responsibilities:

• · Check children in and out of classroom and/or facility if a greeter is not available.
• · Prevent unauthorized people (adults or children) from entering a classroom and/or facility.
• · Oversee “restroom return” for elementary children who go to and return from the restroom.
• · Communicate immediate security concerns to supervisor.
• · Consider ways to improve children’s and/or classroom security and communicate these ideas to appropriate personnel.
•  

Mission: Nurture children’s relationships with Jesus through Bible stories, small group discussion and personal experience.

For Small Group LeaderFor Children's Ministry

Individual Responsibilities:
•    Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
•    Worship regularly with the church family.

Team Responsibilities:
•    Pray for our CCASTA family community that the Holy Spirit will open everyone’s heart to strengthen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
•    Participate in monthly scheduled meetings.
•    Participate in one small group discussion that will deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Teaching Session Responsibilities:
•    Arrive at least 15 minutes before each session begins.
•    Greet each child upon arrival and involve him or her in conversation.
•    Model the love of Christ by getting to know children and sharing their concerns, needs, and joys.
•    Guide Bible learning by
•    Being well prepared to use Bible stories, verses/passages, questions, and comments appropriate to the age level to accomplish the lesson aims.
•   Participating with children and in small-group time and age-appropriate activities.

Mission: To provide a welcoming environment to all gathering spaces
 

For Sunday Mornings

Responsibilities before gathering:
•    Turn lights on in gathering spaces, hall, and Burke wing.
•    Move supplies from closet in Burke wing into the gathering spaces.
•    Set up the St. Augustine Hall with tables and chairs.
•    Set up refreshment bar in Burke wing for parents.

Responsibilities after gathering:
•    Take tables and chairs down in the St. Augustine Hall.
•    Make sure all floors are clean; vacuum, sweep and mop if necessary.
•    Return supplies from gathering spaces to Burke wing closet.
•    Clean up refreshment area in Burke wing; put away coffee, creamers, sweeteners, bottled water into closet Burke wing.
•    Collect all trash from Burke Wing and gathering spaces and throw in dumpster.
•    Turn lights off in hall, hallways, gathering spaces and Burke wing.
•    Participate in monthly scheduled meetings.
•    Participate in one small group discussion that will deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ.
